DECOKING OF HEATER F1201
Position of 12" Launcher & Valves. This heater comprised of 2 x 6" Inlets and 4 x 12" Outlets. We commenced the decoking of the 12" pipe and then had to remove the launcher to the second 12" valve to decoke the second outlet.

Pass A: We removed approximately ½ drum of coke from this pass, we found no problems with any part of this pass.
Pass B: We removed approximately ½ drum of coke from this pass, we found no problems with any part of this pass.
Pass C: We removed approximately 1 ½ drums of coke from this pass, the coke from this pass was contaminated with an oil/slurry.
Pass D: We removed approximately ½ drum of coke from this pass, we found no problems with any part of this pass.

Crest Environmental Services contracted to mechanically decoke heaters F1201 & F1101A. Both heaters were decoked as per schedule with no accidents or incidents and all KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) met.

BENEFITS OF MECHANICAL DECOKING
Over time, pipes and tubes used in industrial applications tend to develop unwanted deposits in their inner walls (usually referred to as scales). However, for the proper and safe working of these pipelines, tanks, plants and heaters, it is imperative to clean and remove all such residual deposits from time to time.
